Ms Shawna Sandhop is the CAL Kindergarten teacher for 2006-2007.

Kindergarten is a very special time at CAL. The small student-teacher ratio, ministry motivated teachers with high educational standards and backgrounds, and a commitment to Christ combines to give your student a solid educational base in a Christian environment.

Students will be challenged academically as they develop a strong phonetic base for reading and are taught the basic skills in math. The curriculum includes Bible, language arts (spelling, reading, handwriting, and language), math, history, and science. In addition to the traditional curriculum, students receive further instruction in Spanish, music, art, physical education, drama and computer. A third grade “Reading Buddy” program enhances reading skills. The kindergarten is also involved in the national Stanford 10 and OLSAT achievement testing each spring.

The CAL uniform policy includes a generous selection of styles and colors for all kindergarten and elementary students. The standardized dress code provides a sense of school unity as well as bringing focus to the broader areas of educational benefit within the school setting. CAL’s Kindergarten is located at the Elementary Campus in the Anderson Christian Church. Students are required to be picked up directly from the Kindergarten classroom.
